Festival organisers 'could sue Winehouse'

Organisers of a Paris music festival could be set to take legal action against Amy Winehouse after she withdrew from the event just hours before she was due to play.

The volatile singer did not attend the Rock En Seine festival on Friday due to an unspecified illness, which resulting in her needing to rest, according to her spokesman.

However, a statement issued by the organisers of the event said they had received "no explanation of the exact reasons for her absence".

"Amy Winehouse should have arrived on the site early Friday evening," the statement read.

"We were told by her agent at 20:00 [local time] that she wasn't coming."

The Back To Black star was admitted to hospital in June and diagnosed with the early stages of
emphysema.

Amy put in a wobbly performance at Glastonbury festival this summer, where she attempted to punch a fan in the face.
