James Corden to write lolly gags

James Corden has signed a deal with ice cream manufacturer Walls to write the jokes for its lolly sticks.

The company is planning a return for the gags - which were phased out some 20 years ago – and has asked the Gavin and Stacey star to lend a hand.

"We want to re-launch the jokes on lolly sticks and we thought that using a comedian like James would be ideal," said a spokesman for the company.

"We have spoken to his agent about providing the jokes and he seems keen.

"We really believe that his jokes will have the nation roaring with laughter."

Corden has shot to fame since the huge success of BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey, which he co-wrote with Ruth Jones.

He scooped Best Male Comedy Newcomer while the show also won Best New British Television-Comedy at last year's Baftas.

Morgan Freeman And Wife To Divorce

Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman and his wife of 24 years are to divorce, his lawyer has said.

Freeman's lawyer Bill Luckett told Access Hollywood that the 71-year-old actor and his costume designer wife Myrna Colley-Lee "are involved in a divorce action".

"And for legal and practical purposes the pair have been separated since December 2007," he added.

The Dark Knight star was involved in a serious car accident on Sunday and has just been released from hospital.

Freeman was driving a car belonging to his passenger, Demaris Meyer, when it left the road and overturned several times.

Mr Luckett, who owns a blues club with Freeman, visited the actor in hospital on Wednesday.

"It's going to take a few months because he got banged up pretty badly actually," he said.

"He's in good spirits today and he hopes his golf swing is going to be better than ever now with his fixed arm."

Freeman lived on a ranch with Myrna, who he married in June 1984.
