Michelle Ryan 'has worst US accent'

Former Eastenders actress Michelle Ryan has been handed the accolade of having the worst US accent on TV.

Ryan, 24, recently starred as Jaime Sommers in the US show Bionic Woman, which was cancelled after just one season as a result of the writers' strike.

The Radio Times poll put comedian Eddie Izzard in second place, for his performance as Wayne Malloy in The Riches.

Another ex-British soap star, Anna Friel, came in third for her turn as Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles in Pushing Daisies.

Hugh Laurie was a surprise entry at fourth, nominated for his Golden Globe-winning performance as Dr Gregory House in the hit show House.

Editor of Radio Times' website, Helen Hackworthy, said: "Just as Dick Van Dyke struggled with his English accent in Mary Poppins, so too are some Brits failing to pull off convincing American accents."

Lovejoy actor Ian McShane also featured for his role as Al Swearengen in Deadwood.

Timberlake and Biel to marry?

The rumour mill is buzzing with news that pop superstar Justin Timberlake may be about to propose to actress Jessica Biel, according to the Sun.

Having recently spent time apart from the Rules of Attraction star whilst promoting the single Four Minutes with Madonna, the singer has reportedly decided that Jessica is 'the one'.

"Justin is 27 and thinking about marriage and kids. For the first time in his life he is feeling settled and has definitely decided to pop the question to Jessica," said a source.

Speculation has been further fuelled by the fact that Jessica has been abstaining alcohol, prompting suggestions that she may be pregnant.

Aside from long-term relationships with Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz, Timberlake has been linked with a succession of glamorous ladies in the past, including Scarlett Johansson and Christina Aguilera.

The forthcoming nuptials are reported to be taking place on the island of Mustique.

Kelly and Zane all smiles at Cannes

Kelly Brook confirmed speculation that she is back with long-term partner Billy Zane after she showed him off at the Cannes Film Festival.
Zane, 42, had flown back from filming in South Africa last week to try and win back the Strictly Come Dancing star with a romantic night in a swanky London hotel.
Kelly, 28, told guests at Cannes: "We're so happy. It's just the best feeling being with him. I really missed Billy. We realised we're at our happiest when are together."
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she added: "We needed to get away just to have some quality time together away from England."
Ms Brook announced the split through her agent last month, confiding in friends she was too young to marry Zane as planned this summer.
It has been reported that she was unhappy with the fact that Zane was never around, as well as speculation that he was involved in a fling with another actress.

Lost Pink Floyd pig lands at last

An inflatable pig that floated away during Ex-Pink Floyd member Roger Waters' set at the Coachella music festival has been found.
Organisers of the Californian bash had offered a $10,000 (£5,000) reward and lifetime passes to the event for the return of the inflatable, which was tethered to the ground while Waters played Pink Floyd track Pigs.
Two families found the pig, which is the width of two buses, outside their homes.
According to the BBC, they have decided to halve the reward and share the four lifetime tickets to the Coachella festival.
The inflatable took the image of a ticket ballot box for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and bore the slogans "fear building walls" and "don't be led to the slaughter".
It has been a signature stage presence at Pink Floyd gigs since it first appeared on the 1977 cover of 'Animals' and the song 'Pigs on Wings'.

Scarlett Johansson gets engaged to actor beau

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she is to tie the knot with fellow actor Ryan Reynolds and showed off a sparkling diamond solitaire engagement ring.

Johansson, who is 23, has previously remained coy on the romance and avoided discussing her relationship with the Canadian publicly.

But the American star of Lost In Translation and Girl With A Pearl Earring attended a New York gala wearing her new rock while her representatives reportedly confirmed the engagement officially.

A spokesman for Johansson said both were "thrilled" by the development.

Reynolds, who is 31 and originally from Vancouver, does not have the profile of his wife-to-be but is an emerging talent who once stayed in a cheap LA motel while trying to land roles.

He went on to star in films such as Blade Trinity and The Amityville Horror.

Johansson is the daughter of a mother of Polish descent and father of Danish descent and found critical acclaim in 1998 film The Horse Whisperer.
